Cafe Hop
Part of their set lunch and also a common favourite - A generous portion of creamy and lightly spiced pasta, well balanced with the refreshing lemonade.
Weekdays set lunch with a choice of 3 rice bowls and 3 pastas, paired with ice lemon tea or lemonade. Buttermilk chicken rice bowl, named after their creator.
One of the few cafes opening at 8am at Sri Petaling, sandwiches/baked eggs/onigiri on its breakfast menu (+RM3 for Americano/Tea, +RM5 for Latte/Cappuccino). Multiple visits here and their latte never fails
A twist of Singaporean chilli crab incorporated to the soft shell crab burger. The sauce was a tad too salty, but balanced by the runny egg beneath
Appetising fusion vegetarian food with affordable lunch sets and great coffee (donāt miss this!), but parking is an issue as the restaurant lies on one of the busier Bukit Bintang main road
Excellent selection of sauces with cream or tomato base, comes with a basket of garlic bread for dipping š¤¤
Pasta cooked with spicy garlic cream sauce topped with smoked salmon and poached egg. Food portion is good for sharing š
Great selection of cakes ranging from lemon poppy seed, orange, marble to blueberry and apply crumbles. Had a slice of lemon poppy seed cake paired with a cup or chai latte on my first visit. The cake was amazing - mild citrus flavour with a hint of salt, fluffy with great popping texture. However, the lemon cream was a tad too soft. Think it melted under the display lights. The mild sweetness of chai latte complemented the cakes served.
Bacon themed cafe, with food ranging from Kimchi fried rice to Bacon carbonara and Bacon cheesecake. Their attentive waitress recommended their specialty- Bacon cheesecake and Uji matcha latte. The Bacon cheesecake was average, too sweet for my liking; especially when I expected the savoury bacon bits to balance the sweetness. Instead, the cake was served with caramelised bacon bits and caramel by the side. The Uji matcha latte was below expectations with thick foam and a powdery end to it.
All in all, the atmosphere and service was great but large room for improvement for their dessert and drinks.
Rare find among cafes in Petaling Jaya - Lavender flavoured latte. As much as I'm a fan of lavender products, think it should remain as a fragrance instead of a flavouring...
Spiced braised pulled lamb, caramelized onion and melted cheese, wrapped in toasted pita. Served with hand cut fries and garlic aioli with a dash of pepper. The fries were drenched in olive oil, could be their style but I prefer them crisp.
Service was good, they served our food simultaneously so my main was slightly cold, best to ask them to serve whenever it's ready.
Lamb Shawarma Wrap: RM25
Shahi (Arab tea infused with mint): RM10/pot
This shop is connected to Souka which has a wide selection of cakes!
The ribs (RM28) were tougher than anticipated, served with high acidity slaw and standard fries. Their signature mocktail, Sis&Co Mojito (RM9), added to the disappointment - the Yuzu flavour was overpowered by sweetness that we had to wipe off the salt from the brim of the glass to balance the flavours.
Nevertheless, we'll be back to try their famed coffee.
