Come for the Wagyu buffet ($70++ per pax) and overdose on marinated meat. This place feels like a cross between a Japanese yakiniku and Korean bbq. Service was a little slow on the Friday night we went to.
Being cheap I used my @entertainersg discount for 1-for-1 beef off cuts platter (we got 500g for $40++!) which still tastes fantastically fatty. Loin and pork cheek are both just passable - suggest you go straight for the fatty cuts. Aburiya is a boisterous yakiniku joint with booth seats for groups. Will return! .

Fresh seafood from Japan always win hands down. Tucked in the basement of Liang Court, Ryoshi Sushi must be legit enough for the Japanese living in Singapore to have survived this long in the de facto Japanese mall in town. Friends tagged - Cos I want to win us an omakase meal courtesy of #burpplesushimonth! #fingerscrossed
The tempura batter is light but crisp and the prawn tempura tastes phenomenal - you know that fried prawn shell taste? Yes that's how the whole prawn tempura tasted like. This bowl isn't as life changing as Ginza Itsuki but it'll do in a pinch.
$14.90 with a miso soup and small chawanmushi, excludes tax and service charge. Check out Eatigo app to save up to 50% the cost of food. The tempura is nicely fried without thick batter. My favourite are the prawns as they carry the toasty fried prawn shell flavour. Free flow Japanese pickled cabbage salad on the table, eat up your greens!
I'm also not a usual fan of mentaiko but PMS hormone wreck made me order this today. The generous sauce also meant it's quite too salty, great for those who love strong flavours. The gyoza filling is generous too and panfried nicely, though I'd prefer them slightly more charred. [breaking news] my mum cooked boiled Korean mandus, which are essentially boiled gyoza for dinner. She can sometimes read my food craving over distance but it sometimes spells overkill š
Im not usually one to order soft eggs like this, but I wanted protein hence this overpriced rice bowl. I could eat so much more caifan with $6.80. This tasted quite bland, the pork is tender but so is lor bak. Not worth your money.
Here's a mega-san white rice sushi roll with avocado, cucumber, grilled zucchini, tamago, pine nuts, shredded chicken and fried soft shell crab with wasabi mayo. Filling yet light lunch.
This casual joint has fresh and interesting selection. Bad for non-sashimi eaters like me, but those who do will enjoy it.
