Local Delights!
If you're looking to try some yuan yang horfun aka horfun with crispy horfun bits at the Pasir Panjang hawker, be prepared to wait a bit during peak hours. But trust me, it's worth it at just only $5! The horfun is silky smooth and the crispy bits add a nice texture. Make sure to douse it with the savory sauce for maximum enjoyment. Pro tip: go early to avoid the crowds and the long wait. But even if you have to wait, just chill, get a drink and mingle with the friendly locals – it's all part of the hawker experience!
For people who fancy cheap ($2.5-$3) and good fishball noodle. The stall serves tasty chili and bouncy fishball (弹牙 kind). Please let the uncle know if you need healthier option i.e. less oil, vinegar etc and beware of the long queue.
A dish that I have grown up eating for the past decades. Always served to me piping hot with extra servings. 👍🏻Chill place to get your fix for teochew duck meat!
One of my favorite food since young. It usually get sold out by 8-9am, so be sure to be there early. Recommended dishes if you are there with friends would be Sambal Prawn, Adam Fish, Curry Chicken and the Pork Chop~ usually cost around $3-4 per pax.
There is always a long long queue for this stall. It was only when I joined some colleagues for lunch one day - and realised one of them would regularly spend 15min or so in the line for this plate of noodles - that I finally had the opportunity/determination to get a taste of this. Of course I went with her off-menu recommendation: beef brisket tomato noodles.
Beef brisket was tender and flavourful, totally believe that 15 different types of spices were involved in the making of this brisket. The noodles were cooked just right too, neither too hard or soft. I was also told that the tomato noodles had a stronger taste than the spinach noodles. Also liked the vegetables served! Good choice overall, curious to try the dumplings next!
The lunch-time regulars at timbre+ will be sure to know this stall. Though I often get the soup version of ban mian, I will order the dry version at this stall. Super love the egg mixed in with the noodles, crispy anchovies, and amazing dark sauce/oil! Cheat code: I always ask for the dark red chilli, and the uncle is always more than happy to share his great creation - yumz!
