Best Thai Food In Singapore
SAP Thai is one of the best "hidden gems" for Thai food in Singapore; you probably wouldn't know about it if you don't frequent the CBD. The noodles in this dish is super springy while still absorbing the wok-stirred goodness of basil, minced chicken, chilli, fish sauce and dark sauce. The sunny side up is also crisp at the edges with the yolk still runny. Ask for "less spicy" so that you can enjoy your meal with their homemade sambal cincalok - one of the best you'd have tasted. Thumbs up, hands down, 10/10 amazing Thai food, at only $4.50! Opens Mon-Fri 10am to 9pm
First Thai is one of those places to eat with family or with groups of friends, mainly because it makes sense to order more and share - each dish is amazing albeit in large portions. Been here multiple times, but here we've ordered the olive fried rice, spicy basil minced pork and the seafood tomyum soup. The fried rice was fragrant and tasty (and importantly, it wasn't too oily as with most other fried rice). The meat was slightly salty but was complemented well when eaten with the olive rice. The tomyum soup at First Thai isn't too spicy, with the highlights being the sour, galangal and lemongrass flavours and scents. (Add more Chilli if you prefer). All in all, would rate First Thai 8.5/10, but only because the price can get pretty steep if you over order.
I love tomyum. I can drink it all day, every day. This tomyum soup at Jai Thai packs in a punch - sour + spicy + fragrant with tamarind, galangal and lemongrass all at the same time. One of the most affordable yet super delicious tomyum soups around. Only be warned: unlike other squid rings, these ones can be slightly under-cooked and they might slide down your throat if you don't chew them up properly (ahem* happened once too many times to me. cough)
