The granola here is one of the best I've had! Drenched in coconut yogurt, sprinkled with nuts and coconut strips, the winning combination was a party in the mouth. Without being overly sweet nor creamy, the portion was big but easy to finish. But I was so full towards the end, I had to takeaway the banana bread.
The banana bread was great - buttery and fragrant, however the creme on it was a little strange. Suggest to eat the bread without the cream.
Situated right outside W hotel, Bali, Biku is constantly filled with both tourists and locals alike. This Nasi Campur here is one of the better ones I've tried. Each side dish has a distinct flavour and texture, which becomes a party in your mouth. I really like the grilled prawn stick on the left.
And oh, they serve an amazing pulut hitam. Cooked with jackfruit, the pulut Hitam is so much more fragrant.
This plate of nachos was so yummy. Imagine unsalted nachos, drenched in tomato purĆ©e, guac, sour cream, jalapeƱos and cheese š We literally finished this in no time.
Described as crackling pork belly... But it wasn't. Nevertheless, it was a real fatty pork belly that simply melts away in the mouth. The sauce it is drenched in tastes a little of peppercorns, soy and ma you, which complements the protein well. And surprise within the plate has got to be the rice crispies, which adds a nice texture to the dish.
With only 2% alcohol content, this pretty much tastes like yummy lemon soda, with a barley aftertaste. Priced at $1, what's not to love, really?
Ordered North Sumatra coffee, brewed French press style, and was served this š
Indulged in an Indonesian casual fine dining restaurant for lunch and having a ball of a time savouring modern interpretations of Indonesian cuisine. Here's my Brongkos- an uncannily similar dish to beef rendang. The beef cubes here are so well-stewed that it breaks at the lightest bite and it is cooked in an evenly balanced beef curry that is salted just right. Accompany it with the soft starchy yellow rice in the background and you're all set for some really comforting meal.
Haha finally had satay here!! Okay, a modern interpretation of it at least. A winner in terms of presentation, but the chicken was essentially breast meat (which caught me by surprise). Also, the lack of honey marination on the satay itself was surprising. Nevertheless, the awesome peanut sauce added the much needed touch of sweetness, completing the entire dish.
Essentially a deconstructed then reconstructed Gado Gado. The sweetness and juiciness of the vege roll went perfectly with the broiled chicken on the side. And not to mention, the super nutty peanut sauce on the side...... ššš
All that talk about MCD's $3.95 Truffle fries has got me 'craving' for one. So nah, here's my $4.50 version with a waterfall of cheese shreds! Looks like magic but to be honest, it's only got a hint of truffle.
Close up of my porky dish, put together with different pork parts. My favourite was the simple pork slices cooked in a potful of spices. It's simple cooking method brought out the complexity of the spices, a sure-win for me! And I'm still bummed that I got charged tourist price........
