Kaisendon You will always gona be the one in my heart No matter how many more Japanese chirashi dons I have tried in Singapore, Kaisendon from Teppei remains the one and only one that keeps me reminiscing about it With Salmon, Tuna, Whelk, Swordfish, Baby Scallop and Squid to complement the soft and moist sushi rice and of course, how can we ever forget to mention its signature sauce that makes this dish so irresistably delectable and addictive!

Gyu Do Dont be distracted by the eye catching name of We talk food (WTF) Coffee House & Bar, its menu items are head turners too Drenched in a mildly sweet sauce flavored with soy sauce and mirin, the grilled beef boasting a radiant pink hue yields a fork-tender succulence.

Add in the gooey onsen egg to relish the flowingggggg yolk and have all these delectables carefully layered on the pillowy Japanese rice for immense palate gratification.
Angela, the owner of the cafe was sharing how frequent lunches with her father inspired her to start this venture and to add a twist to the local fare that she loves indulging in.

Dry Ramen @kanshokuramen Kanshouku means to 'finish every last bit of your food' in Japanese and I am more than gleeful to devour this signature dish to its last morsel.

Aromatic truffle fills the air as the ramen is being served and Kanshouku is definitely very generous with their truffle oil.
I was even wondering if the ramen and the other ingredients are completely coated in truffle oil as the truffle flavour is very much eminent throughout the meal.
With springy noodles complemented by the salted kombu, succulent cha siu and the gooey onsen egg, this scrumptious combination is more than enough to make me want to return again.

Unagi Kabayaki Don Freshwater eel grilled with sweet savory sauce served with Kinmemai rice Kabayaki is a preparation of unagi eel where the fish is split down the back gutted and boned, butterflied, cut into square fillets, skewered and dipped in a sweet soy based sauce before being broiled on a grill.

Kinmemai rice has a slightly buttery, mildly nutty taste; a moist, creamy texture; and a nutritional profile that is superior to that of white rice.
The serving of the unagi eel is humongous and your tastebuds are already activated at the sight of it. It has this instant melt in your mouth tenderness and its sensuous texture and silkiness will bring exhilaration to your palate with every bite. The rice is scrumptious by itself but the unagi is easily the pièces de résistance of the dish

Char Siu Ajitama Shio Soba Char Siu, Flavoured Egg, Bamboo Shoot, Leek & Truffle Pureed in Truffle Oil Made from astari clams, fish and other various seafood, sea salt from Okinawa and rock salt from Mongolia, the clear broth has this distinct brackishness with a earthy aftertaste and mineral undertone.

All these flavours interwine with a harmonious mix and you will be raving non stop about the broth which is downright delish.
Not to forget to mention the luscious and chewy char siu, the ajitsuke tamago with the gooey egg yolk and the aromatic truffle that makes up the rest of the bowl

Hitsumabushi Brought to you by Teppei, these imported eel fillets are skewered and grilled on charcoal fire until they are slightly charred on the outside and with a melt in your mouth softness on the inside.

You can choose to have the unagi with just the Japanese rice or garnish it with the seasoning items such as spring onions, wasabi and seaweed or pour in the pot of dashi (Unagi bone bonito stock) into the rice bowl to make a ochazuke
Apparently this is the traditional Japanese way to savour this dish
