Second round of dinner was this very comforting bowl of pig organs soup! Got a large bowl ($6) to share as the small intestine and kidney is not available for the small one. Usually hesitant about ordering pig organs soup despite my love for it, partly due to the smell, which is non-existent in this bowl of goodness! They're pretty generous with the ingredients (meatball, tofu, lean meat which was a little tough, belly, stomach, liver was cooked just right, intestines, kidney), the soup was so sweet and flavourful, and I actually liked the light tangy taste from the salted vegetables! Definitely going into my list of comfort food and best of all, they open till late for supper!

The best thing about the tastemakers community is how we're always up for food - even if we just had an invited tasting😂 First time at the famous scissors curry rice which opens till late (3am?) and what a beautiful mess!! The ngoh hiang is pretty good and you don't always find one that has chunks of water chestnuts in it - and then there's the chapchye and pork cutlet that I really enjoyed. Everything's then drenched with thick, flavourful curry that isn't spicy nor overpowering. If this plate of curry rice isn't considered a comfort food, I don't know what is.

This mixed pork organ herbal soup meesua could easily be my favourite late-night supper. Ultimate comfort food!!! Light but flavourful herbal soup, served with lean meat, pork kidney and liver, all of which were fresh and had no weird porky taste. Now I know where to head to if I'm ever hungry before 12mn😋

So glad to discover this hidden gem in Geylang which sells amazing skewers in a humble coffeeshop. Think of charred broccoli, cauliflower and okra, prawns, chicken liver, shishamo, lamb and seabass. My personal favourite will be the grilled eggplant topped with super addictive chilli! These plump oysters are grilled with light soy sauce and you can definitely tell how fresh they are from the "sea taste". A great place for supper since they are open 'till 1.30am (and 2.30am on Friday and Saturday) and the staff were really friendly! Comfort food at its best ☺️

$7 worth of crispy, buttery, guilty pleasure and one of the best prata curry (flavourful+ goes really well with the prata) I've had with so many chunks of meat. Also had their egg prata, not bad but preferred this to the fish curry.

Friends who knew me for a long time would all know about my curfew and my rather strict mother. So a trip down to Seng Kee would a very rare occurrence for me. It probably could only happen if my club basketball training would end earlier(which is really once in a blue blue moon). My teammates and I would then troop down to the outlet along changi road for some team bonding with Mee Sua.

I could still remember vividly having my first bowl. One sip of the rich flavourful herbal soup and I was sold!! Grabbing my chopstick and ignoring how hot the soup was, I tucked in steadily. The mee sua and the fresh pork meat and organs were all on point! The table would be oddly quiet while we wolfed down everything greedily as we were too hungry after training.

I returned a few times occasionally and realised a sharp drop in standard. Till recently, I found another store selling the same Mee Sua at the Kaki Bukit Food Market. The taste and everything was everything I remembered it to be 5 years back! Having a bowl of it, sure reminds me of all the post training bonding session I had with my teammates. #hawkerpedia

Usually we go Bee Hwa Yun for the Fish Head Bee Hoon. However there was once my brother and me ended work late at a IT show (Even the Mac was closed). Hungry and tired we found this stall still had its light lit up.

So we ordered the "premium" version (simply meant everything into one bowl). The spicy chilli sauce mixed with the springy noodle and the fatty rib just melted in the mouth. I couldn't tell you how satisfying it was but after that time, it had never tasted as good. 😋😋😋

Its little wonder how this place becomes such a popular spot; the 24 hour operations is definitely convenience to solve your hunger and cravings at any time. Portions are quite generous here, and there is just so many condiments you get from minced pork, pork balls, mushtooms to chicken cutlet as well. The dry bowl of Mee Kia also gets tossed in a flavourful sauce that is spiked with lots of vinegar so you get that tang along with the savoury flavours that tickles the tastebuds.

Dim sum for supper! Ok their supper menu (10pm - 6am) is quite limited, but yay to my favourite baked char siew buns as a late night snack (and another choice of dimsum other than swee choon, whose standard seems a little.. questionable) Sliced fish congee with garlic fried fish skin & century egg - comfort food! And we really liked the carrot cake too.
