Known for their gorgeous HUGE cakes, The Fabulous Baker Boy is simply fabulous. Dig into their sinfully rich, chocolate covered Red Velvet cake with a cup of coffee. Set in The Foothills, it's a nice place to relax with a couple of friends on a lazy afternoon. We suggest that you share a few slices, but hey, sometimes it's alright to be selfish.
It's name and signboard may be more than a little misleading; bringing to mind a humble hawker centre drink stall rather than a cool, laid-back place situated amidst the busy stretch of bars along Boat Quay. Surrounded by old school décor, bartenders of Ah Sam whip up quality classic cocktails as well as those inspired by local flavours - like the laksa boy and milo whiskey. Cosy and minimalistic, with downright yummy drinks in a friendly environment. Shiok ah!
Their workstation is unique and unlike any other normal coffee joint. The epitome of cool and industrial-chic with clean lines, steel surfaces and glassy shelves, The New Black brings a new take-away multiroaster concept to Upper Circular Road. At any one time, they offer a multitude of coffee blends from numerous roasters. These options change depending on seasonality of particular beans, so you can always go back in the hopes of trying something new. Prices range from $5.50 to a hefty $18 per cup (no cash accepted). This coffee bar takes their coffee very, very seriously, so if you do too, The New Black is definitely worth a visit.
Unique up-cycled furniture, mismatched chairs, wooden tables and one-of-a-kind standing lamps give newly opened Aeiou nothing but character. Currently in their soft launch phase and set to officially open on 11 Jan, don't let the lack of a full menu deter you from checking this cafe out pronto. With adorably quaint furniture and an unbelievably laid-back vibe, this is one perfect place to stop by for an iced avocado coffee or simple black brew served in a repurposed vodka bottle. Novelty right there,
Fans of Monocle would be delighted to know that a brand new Monocle Cafe and retail store just set up shop in Holland Village. Located in the very residential Jalan Kelabu Asap, you can look forward to enjoying a great cuppa brewed with La Marzocco beans from New Zealand’s Allpress, and flip through copies of Monocle in their outdoor garden space. It's easy to miss, but for chill vibes and one of the best long blacks (according to Burppler Eileen Ong), it'll be beneficial to keep your eyes very peeled.
