Was so pleasantly impressed by the croissant and just TBB in general!! First, I loved that they heated up the croissant, making it taste almost freshly baked. Second, the croissant was like layers and layers of buttery goodness on end - one of the better ones I’ve had. Third, they trust the customers with a self-service counter of butter and jam so you can help yourself to however much you need!! So reward them for being generous by just taking what u need and not more :-)
Finally tried the waffles here!! Never had waffles with Greek yogurt before so I wanted to try it. I know maple syrup with waffles is a different option on the menu, but I felt like they could be more generous with the maple syrup on the Greek yogurt (given the tiny marginal cost vs customer satisfaction) - I just feel like cafes can afford not to save on these small costs (for eg they could give a squeeze bottle of maple syrup) in exchange for greater customer satisfaction yknow? Not saying that I wasn’t satisfied or anything, just general advice for cafes :-)
I did enjoy the waffles here, they were crisp with a fluffy interior and I liked that they didn’t stinge too much on the berries! Would come back
My first dirty bread!! I really enjoyed the first few mouths but it got abit gelat after awhile - I guess that’s what dirty breads are supposed to be: Danish pastry generously slathered with ganache and dusted with a thick blanket of (matcha, in this case) powder. The quality matcha was bitter enough to cut the overall sweetness of the bread.
Jumping on the zang zang bao bandwagon with this chocolate dirty cake from Keong Saik Bakery. Not sure what makes this dirty cake different from a normal chocolate sponge cake, but not complaining cause I loved the fluffy sponge and the rich chocolate ganache filling
I made up the name I’m not sure what it’s actually called LOL I know $18 seems like a pretty ridiculous price tag for this cup but they’re really generous with the fruits and the sorbet that’s layered between fruits and non-dairy whipped cream is pretty good!! Not sure if I would get this again (just because it’s so expensive) but it’s worth the splurge if you wanna treat yourself to a semi-healthy dessert and if you love fruits
Honestly couldn’t taste the difference between the charcoal, chocolate and original toasts. That said, I love how buttery they are (I don’t know if some may find it too oily) and I actually really like the sweet-ish cheese blend and that they use (doesn’t taste particularly high quality but it’s the kinda cheese that you wanna keep having more of). The stretchiness is also pretty unreal LOL
Love the idea of a cheesecake pop and a bar of toppings that you can add to your pop for free!! Unfortunately, this wasn’t my favourite cheesecake - it just didn’t taste very fresh and it was way too heavy (maybe they could add some subtle notes of citrus or hold back on the heavy cream in the cheesecake batter).
Pretty pricey and no seating space so you have to stand and eat, but the quality of the gelato is pretty good!!
Loved the masala chai flavour and the chrysanthemum with cocoa nibs flavour. The pistachio was good too but not as good as alfero's. The freshly made thyme cone was also a stand out for me!! 7/10 would return I think
10/10 for novelty but the quality of the ingredients weren't great - I guess you pay for what you get and these were really cheap!! It was really fun to eat though #cheapthrills
All time fav chocolate muffin!! Super chocolatey and moist and basically everything you dream of in a perfect muffin 🍫
What I always look out for in matcha desserts is that it's not overwhelmingly sweet so that the bitterness can stand out - I think I found that in this choux puff!! They are super generous with the matcha custard which may get overwhelming for some but the silky bitter-sweet custard was right up my alley so I'm not complaining. The crouquant top is SLIGHTLY too sweet but otherwise this is a pretty good choux puff!
The toast here is always consistently perfectly crisp and buttery without being oily or overwhelming!! Probably because they deep fry it which is a genius idea to get that golden crisp without the greasy finish. That said, the price is a little steep for a few cubes of bread. Maybe go for the Thai Tea Kaya flavour instead, makes you feel like you get more bang for your buck because it's more special :-)
