This is what I’m missing the most from japan right now! Real good stuff not to be missed if you’re in osaka! Look at the pretty beef marbling and that instant melting in your mouth feeling is simply irresistible!! Go for their top few grades of beef, may cause a pinch in your wallet but you’ll not regret. The staff there are pretty particular in the way you cook the beef and how you eat it with the sauce to ensure you will enjoy the most out of it. And surprisingly, Naengmyeon actually goes pretty well with these BBQ beef!
Fusion is the new trend. Seafood is setting a new trend too. So what comes out of the both? Retaining the local laksa flavor but I think the flavor would be better if it's thicker and spicier. But nonetheless, they were rather generous with the ingredients, the usual laksa ingredients minus the cockles and replaced with three halves of crayfish which were fresh and succulent. Good but not good enough to be back craving for more.
Well if you're in bangkok, do not miss checking out one of the Kyo Roll En branches! A Japanese base dessert specializes in Swiss roll and their matcha soft serve. Their Swiss roll are so soft and airy encapsulating around flavored creams that was light and fluffy. With their soft serve less melty and lingering with traces of matcha. Each plate was beautifully crafted with fruits and jelly cubes. Definitely worth your calories!
How could we resist such scrumptious brunch spread? From flowy yolk eggs ben to smoked salmon rosti to piping hot savory tomatoes eggs. Each portion being so generous and delish. The tomatoes eggs being in particular, a good compote of sourish and savory flavors from the baked tomatoes, crispy roasted potatoes and juicy chorizo chunks with every flavors well locked into the meat. Served with thin slices of tortilla to whipped out whatever sauce is left within the pan! That's how good the brunch at Roast is! Don't miss it when you're in bkk!
Have you tasted this one of a kind Army Stew but the Thai Style way? With Tom Yum Goong base smack right in the middle of the pot bubbling with intriguing sour and piquant tom yum soup filled of generous seafood ingredients. Surrounding it is a mixture of sweet corn, quail egg, umami tasting seaweed soup and gooey cheese! The more bites you take, the more kick there is! & it's so interesting to see how everything is cooked right at its own place. Enough said, if you have not tried this goodie when you're in Bangkok it's time for you to lay your hands on it during your next trip there!
You can't imagine the deal I've gotten myself in one of the cafes near Johor City Square. Teriyaki salmon served with jacket potatoes and side salad for just SGD$8! Pan seared salmon with the skin a little crisp and meat firm and juicy. Coupled with a big jacket potato drizzled generously with brown sauce and a side fresh green salad in vinaigrette dressing. It's a total delish dish for the price paid for.
A good alternative to Taman Sentosa for BBQ seafood at reasonable prices in the near vicinity of City Square Mall. A plate of 3pcs fat and sumptuous stingray and this plate of Sotong with the right chewiness only cost RM55! It may not be as cheap as Taman Sentosa, but for the convenience and portion size I'm good to pay for it! Spicy sambal sauce with springy fat squid on banana leaves for the added fragrance. Drools!
When night falls along the coastline, the best that can ever happen to you is savoring a plate of fresh, succulent and flavorful BBQ seafood and chicken satay against the beautiful sunset. The seafood were cooked to perfection with Balinese style of marination. Light hearted taste that wasn't too overwhelming. It's a total must try kind of meal when you're in Bali!
Nasi Campur. It's a kind of 'Mixed Rice' which was traditional to the Balinese. A scoop of rice accompanied with small portions of vegetables, meat and fish. Love the crunchiness from the fried fish and chicken and the lemongrass scented sate lilit. Not only that, Indonesian meals are always served with shrimp krupuk. Missing the times in Bali now.
Easily have to wait for at least 45-60mins on a non-holiday weekday before able to taste this piping hot aromatic curry fish head! It is situated just a 5min walk away from city sqaure mall. The fish head used is fresh and meaty, the gravy is a little spicy, sweet yet light on coconut. Easily can wipe out a few bowls of rice with the gravy! And it comes with loads of cabbage, lady fingers, long beans and dry beancurd skin. Totally in love with it.
This hidden gem in JB is definitely a place for cheap & good Korean food. Just a 5-10mins drive away from city square mall. At least 10 sides will be accompanied with any food ordered, just munching on the sides itself is enough to whet up your appetite! That aside, the kimchi hotpot is generous with their ingredients and its variety. The soup base is daebak! Rich and thick, overflowing with the taste & flavor of traditional kimchi. It's a must try!
One of the best liu sha bao at affordable price across the border! Located at sultra mall and sells a variety of dim sum at cheap prices! Crispy skin with soft bun and overflowing golden liu sha. Totally awesome! It's a must try when you get there!
