Since Plank Sourdough is by the people behind Baker & Cook, it's no surprise the pizza base was excellent. The bread was pleasantly chewy and very tasty on its own. However, as much as I love sourdough, I did find the balance of tangy-ness to be a little off. The tomato base was too much on the tart side for an already-tangy crust, while the amount of mozzarella wasn't sufficient to provide the indulgent satisfaction of digging into a pizza. All the toppings were tasty, and overall the meal was very pleasant and filling, but I would probably drop by only if I'm in the area!
Lemon hummus, red pepper and eggplant, garlic tzatziki dips were served with -literally- loads of crostini! We enjoyed this starter a lot, each dip was flavorful and distinct, while the crostini was crispy and featured at least three different breads. A great way to start the meal.
Brought my family here for lunch, and we were sooooo satisfied. Expect eleven dishes to arrive immediately at your table - portioned perfectly for the number of people eating. White rice will be scooped onto your plate, and pickles will be served to share. You can re-order any of the dishes that you like at any time! I love this style of buffet, you get to try everything, you don't have to get up, and the quality of each dish is so high. We particularly loved the chicken satay, fried sweet and sour fish, beef rendang and the ladyfinger in bean sauce. We were in and out in 20 mins! Great for lunch in town with a group. Beware that they don't serve free water!
I usually come here for dinners with the family whenever we're craving Indian food. We always get biryani rice which comes with 2 veg each, then order other meat dishes to share. Their rice and fish head curry is always satisfying, but it is this dish I can never get enough of. Two chicken drumsticks marinated in cream and spices, then grilled till charred in spots and utterly delicious. This is also one of the rare spots that serves romali roti, a large, thin blanket-like bread that is light and goes with everything! Since you probably already know what butter naan tastes like, try this next time!
GOOD. Very tasty, bacon jam was delightful. Onion rings were nice and crunchy, the brioche fluffy but not soggy, meat was loosely packed. A very satisfying burger. Didn't love the sweet potato fries on the side, but the slight sweetness was welcome.
One of my favorites here. Really nicely roasted pumpkin with a good crunch of macadamia, and little punches of tang from the sundried tomatoes and light mustard dressing.
Topped with chopped pistachio and a refreshing salad on the side, this was such a light, easy dish to share. Everyone enjoyed it, even my cheese-loathing father!
Okay this might look a little scary but I really like this! The overwhelming amount of pomegranate is such fun to chomp on, and the fresh cream and cake layers are so very light. Hibiscus and pomegranate juice are also in the cake, making for a very flavorful experience. Get a whole cake for $52 for someone who likes unique cake!
This chocolate cake is fast becoming my family's go-to for birthdays! We were so surprised by the high quality considering its from a neighborhood bakery, simple yet sophisticated. The ganache is thick and luxurious, the cake very moist and layered with a lovely hazelnut praline crunch in the middle. One of those cakes that satisfies young and old!
That green chili sambal is absolutely addictive. Sitting atop crispy fried chicken, this is a die die must try, especially if you're just 2 pax. We almost ordered another cos it was so good, and we would've if we weren't so full!
Grilled black pomfret, squid, prawns, satay and chicken. This was so so good. If you're in a party of four or more, I say order this and a veg to share, and maybe an extra order of the satay (it's chunky and smoky and smothered in sauce) that's so good! The black pomfret was completely destroyed by the end of the meal, we'd chomped on every possible part, so tasty. Really enjoyed my family dinner here, you should consider it too!!
Loaded with a really juicy portobello mushroom, refreshing tangy gherkins and sweet caramelized onions, this angus beef patty still managed to shine. What I loved about this burger was that you could taste every single component, leaving a proper burger experience that never distracted from the beef. This patty fared better when we ordered it Medium over Medium Rare. Great brioche buns that held everything well and never got soggy. One of my better burger experiences! Make sure to get this and share a fish & chips with your dining partner. Wash it down with cold beer or a glass of wine. This place was really enjoyable - nice enough for a date, casual enough for dinner out with friends or family.
