Did you know that food photography can improve your health?! When your food is naturally colorful and photogenic, it is likely that what you’re eating is packed with a variety of nutrients. So stoked to finally try the Rainbow bowl from TBB, with a base of fragrant brown & wild rice, topped with spicy pineapple kimchi, radish sprouts, purple potato crisps and an organic poached egg. They even slipped in some red shiso leaves that added a touch of herb flavors to the bowl. An explosion of aromas in my mouth and a super satisfying lunch.

Always loved their food, and once again they didn't disappoint :) @lunarcoffeebrewers serves a variety of #fusion #ricebowls, but we went straight for the Miso Nori #Salmon #Soba ($14.50). A generously portioned poached salmon sat atop a tasty marinated soba base topped with a delicious seasoning and in-house miso nori butter. A perfect #onsenegg and pickled ginger sealed the deal. Such a perfect blend of flavors! #burpple

For not-so-common Mediterranean breakfast, this place never disappoints! They manage to make vegetarian food so tasty that you wouldn’t notice the absence of meat in the dish. I especially liked the crispy slivers of phyllo which gave way to a soft boiled egg. Couldn’t quite appreciate the fried feta as it was made from a rather pungent goat’s cheese. But the combination of fresh juicy tomatoes, cucumbers, hummus and pita bread was simply perfect!

The pulled pork rosti ($17) was one of my favorite dishes here. Marinated BBQ pulled pork sat atop a bed of crisp fried russet & sweet potato rosti. The rosti might remind you more of fries (because of their level of crispness), but hey, we ain’t complaining. The flavors blended in well with each other, especially with the sunny side up egg on top.
Fuel plus serves all their main menu items (which are really interesting compared to your typical brunch selection) from the time they start operating, so you can get the full selection even if you’re an early bird. Prices are affordable too! Such a hidden find :)

A rather interesting combination of ingredients on this Tarte Flambé ($24) I must say! It was a smattering of savoury and sweet toppings including dehydrated apple, asparagus, rocket, bacon and cheese. We requested to swap out the blue cheese for Parmesan as we were wary of the pungency of the former :p Though it tasted decent, it's probably not a pizza combo that I would go for if I had other options.

Not just a newcomer to the scene, Merci Marcel is one of those cafes where you can get an out-of-Singapore experience with its French-styled interior and gorgeous brick-walled outdoor dining area. A selection of their usual main dishes are available for brunch as well, and we found some interesting dishes such as the Marinated Crab Tartine ($18). A generous portion of crab was spread on soft sourdough bread, and topped with avocado, alfalfa and radishes.

A really innovative twist on the ubiquitous French dish, it featured surprisingly tender, juicy duck pieces atop Tagliatelle tossed in a hazelnut cream sauce. Loved the bits of hazelnut in it which added a crunchy texture, as well as the sprinkle of Parmesan sautéed spinach which completed the dish. #burpple

The Berry Ricotta Hotcake ($14.90) and Peach & Raisin Ricotta Hotcake ($14.90) were just soooo good, with their incredibly fluffy, cake-like texture. Appreciate the sunflower/pumpkin seed mix l which added texture to the fluffiness and the subtle drizzle of lavender sauce on the vanilla bean ice cream. Definitely recommend sharing this, and you'll not regret! #burpple #brunch #breakfast

Finally made it down to taste homegrown #modsin Chef Shen Tan's creations! The Shendol Delights ($10) is a twist on chendol, featuring a coconut #pannacotta that had a rather interesting mouthfeel - more smooth and creamy, rather than the usual wobbly texture. Drizzled with gula melaka, topped with chendol and served with house made red bean ice cream, this was a pretty good interpretation of one of my favourite local desserts! #burpple
