Hangouts
The concentrated goodness of this stall's broth has leveled up, and I am definitely loving it!
In spite of this, I have arrived at the conclusion that the dry version of their prawn and pork rib noodles appeals more to me because of how appetising their savoury chilli sambal is.
Their very thin and silky skin seem dangerously close to bursting due to the generous amount of filling within. Let me fix that by quickly popping them in my mouth. 😜
I've always been a big fan of slake, for serving value for money and quality meat platters, hence I decided to give this place a shot! The menu is slightly but similarly it was packed with value! I ordered the poached chicken with pesto (250g, this was the smallest portion mind you) [$6] and I made it a meal [additional $5] which comes with gazpacho, soft cooked egg, dressed salad and a choice of side. Amongst the sides options, you can opt for pasta salad, sweet potato mash & olive rice! I was recommended by the staff to try the olive rice, which turned out flavorful and somewhat reminded me of chicken rice rice perhaps due to the spices used. Chicken was poached beautifully, absolutely stunning with the homemade pesto. (Sold separately too) For $11, I'd say the portions are really generous! Definitely worth coming back for other meats!
Tired of the same old Pasar Malam Ramly burgers? Why not shake things up by checking out the newly opened Sedap Giler for affordable burgers? Go for their Hansem Burger, served with a side of nachos and cheese (or choose cookies instead), and their Satay In A Cup.
Symmetry along Jalan Kubor is possibly one of our little island's hippest hidden gems. With its distressed bricked walls and rustic-like vibe, the space spells indie and contemporary, and is just different from the rest without trying too hard. Symmetry holds its own with character and attitude, and stands by its mantra of being a 'humane' restaurant by serving up organic eggs and grass-fed beef. Favourites include the Flan which features chunks of tender pork cheek confit, and their luscious Eggs Ben. *Brunch available on weekends only!
While located on a busy road, Assembly Coffee manages to remain a lovely little nook full of natural light and good vibes. You'll feel instantly transported in this cosy hideout, complete with good coffee from Liberty beans. Treat yourself to a fluffy Salted Caramel Waffle while reading your favourite book. It's almost time to go home, and I can't help but reminisce on all the good food I've had here in Seoul, including the yummy kimbap I had on day 1.
Grilled Portobello mushroom sandwiched in soft burger, juicy and flavourfully marinated with mixed herbs and olive oil.

Enjoy authentic Swiss fondue, and imagine yourself in a Swiss chalet. La Fondue is the only restaurant in Singapore that specializes in fondue, allowing you to indulge in coating your food in drippy, gooey cheese. You'll get an assortment of vegetables, meats, and bread to go with your pot of cheese! Go for their chocolate fondue after, if the richness doesn't get to you. There is just something special about sharing food like this on a romantic date.

Brunch in this brick-walled space is always a lovely affair, from the ambience to the well-executed food. Favourites include the Flan ($23), pork cheek confit with sauteed mushrooms, a perfectly poached egg, and a mountain of rocket sitting in a light pastry shell. The truffle fries are so delightful, it's worth popping by anytime you're in the neighborhood! Finish off with their decadent waffles. Photo by Jennifer Yeo
While the space here might be tiny, the flavors definitely are not. With beautifully rustic, house-made bread, their decievingly simple sandwiches are such a delight. For a starter, order the "Not so humble eggs" ($6), a winning combination of thinly sliced Jamon ham on top of perfect soft boiled eggs that will make you want to order a second bowl. Expect a crowd on the weekends! Photo by Su Ann C
This new kid on the Thomson block is a lovely new space that offers simplicity at its best. Sharing a space with Crust (which takes over after 5pm), One Man Coffee serves up superb brioche French toast and Toad in the Hole eggs with bacon jam that has everyone swooning. They also carry small pastry bites from Bakery Artisan Original (BAO). Photo by Alain Foodology
