Thank god for internationalization! Never so glad in my life to see a Starbucks! Having a foccacia chicken club sandwich and a tall banana java chip frappuccino before my flight back to Singapore.
We went fruit picking in Beijing. It's the season for cherries, apricots and peaches! The peaches went for RMB 4 (SGD 0.80) a kg. We got a bunch of peaches.
Plum cake for breakfast this morning :) nothing wrong with having dessert for breakfast.
We have returned to civilization and had steamboat for dinner. This place is pretty special. We sat in a table of 8 with a lazy Susan but each had our individual pot of steamboat. This is before all the meat arrived. I can say that the people here really enjoy their mutton!
I did not forget about food in Mongolia! Here are some of the goodies made from cow and goat milk. They range from salty to sweet and are all in bite sized pieces. These are accompanied by biscuits. We also have fried rice crispies to be mixed in their milk tea and drank with it.
This is probably representative of all meals I will have here :( everyday we are eating the same thing! I will prob be slimmer when I return home. Yesterday we had a whole baby lamb roasted for us (served with the head). I only had a tiny bite. Was traumatized by it.
