Bangkok Noms
(Spent more than an hour getting in and out of gowns 😂)

When you go into the shop, you'll see a HUUUUUUGE pot of beef soup and a huge lunch crowd. Go upstairs for a respite from the heat! The recipes they used have been passed down for generations since 1970. The beef soup is full of umami-ness w a slight tinge of herbal-ness. Never was a fan of bee hook but ordered is upon the owner's recc. It was definitely a good choice! 🍴
Wanted to check out the rustic charms of Ekkamai shopping mall after lunch but was way too full after it 😅 It is almost like a dressed up American strip mall with handmade leather goods and quirky cafes. Could only feast w my eyes. 😩

She ate half of it, before telling me to finish the rest because it was too sinful for her. Well so I can safely say this is #burpproved by my mom, whom is quite critical. 🍴
The cake was moist and had huge plump raisins! The cream cheese had just enough butter before it tipped the scale to be too buttery.

Just had to have this before I fly off. Crispy crepe w Nutella and banana sandwiches inside. Yum.
Another good street Thai iced tea. Look for the fancy slanted cups and long queue when you walk into Pratunam market. Really milky and smooth tea!
After a relaxing massage at Healthland spa(Sathorn), we decided to have some local food before heading to Asiatique. We walked to Silom Soi 20 and went into the most authentic looking shop, although I should think they are all touristy. Although the Phad Thai wasn't great and papaya salad wasn't crunchy enough, the fish was really awesome! Dip the fish meat into the lime chilli and just enjoy the flavours in your mouth! ☺️
To be honest, this is only nice to look at. There wasn't much Thai tea taste, nor was it really crepe cake. It was more like layered sponge cake rather than layered crepe.
Finally at one of the Audrey branches. Really like the decor and ambience! We enjoyed staring at the waiters work haha.
Just point and order. We followed the posters to the 4th floor of union mall for food and realize there was no food court(after that we realized it was at B1). We walked into this random stall with chicken being hung in the display and couldn't understand a single word in the menu. Ordered the chicken cutlet rice and white chicken Meepok. It was very good! Their chicken rice is not overly oily but still fragrant. Their Meepok noodles are different, being more springy and eggy. Good thing we took the risk!
We saw that our neighboring table ordered it and we couldn't resist it! We thought it was Thai iced tea topped w Thai iced tea ice cream. Turned out it was ice blended Thai iced tea that was scooped out using an ice cream scoop. We ate it with our spoons and called it Thai iced tea ice kacang 😝
A break from shopping in this atas looking cafe w atas looking ppl. I think we looked like lok kok tourist w all our barang. We got a flourless chocolate cake and creme brûlée. Though the flourless choc cake really taste just like fudge. I love the raspberry sauce on top though. The tart sauce went very well w the chocolate. The creme brûlée was a little cold inside but the caramalised top was hard enough. The cappuccino had a nice thick foam that I enjoyed slurping!
Let the free flow food begin! Mookata buffet at 159 baht. It's a steal! It is not as tasty as those you find in Singapore, because it's less marinaded and the soup is just water. It's a lot healthier I guess! After you're done, have a refreshing coconut ice cream! Walk towards century movie plaza from victory monument BTS and walk past Eat I em and you will reach the open air Mookata restaurant!
Finally some boat noodles! The thicken soup has a slight herbal taste and its stronger than the one in Singapore. It's actually less spicy, you are free to add more chilli. I preferred the clear sour soup though, because it has a nice flavour when mixed with the peanuts. The amount of meat given is definitely more generous here. They have free cola and free coconut kueh desserts. It's across the canal when you walk from victory monument. You can't miss the signboard that says "The best boat noodles"
