This is one of their most famous and signature items in recent years. It’s a fried bread made with roasted soybean powder and mochi rice cake, truly a unique and interesting combination. The bread’s outer layer was crispy from deep-frying, while the inside was stretchy and chewy like mochi but still soft and fluffy like bread. The inner layer had a mushy soybean powder paste, and the bread was coated heavily with a powdery sweetness from the kinako powder. The whole taste was about that smooth kinako flavour. It was so good that you have to try it if you ever visit Okinawa!

As I walked along the narrow, steep streets of Okinawa, the fragrance of freshly baked bread led me to Imai Pain. Seriously, the terrain here is no joke! Forget the gym, these uphill and downhill slope will definitely give your legs a great workout.

Okay... Back to topic. Upon entering, I felt an instant sense of comfort. The strong aroma of freshly baked bread was so inviting, and watching the bakers make a new batch right in front of me made it all the more tempting.
