a v yummy combo with pasta, lettuce, balinese chicken, charred broccoli, onsen egg and sesame mayo !!

opted for soba and pasta as my base, balinese chicken satay for my protein and egg and pumpkin as my supplements. i really love the chicken as it is so flavorful and well marinated.

Caught wind about the opening of the new Good Day which had recently opened its doors at Food Garden food court at Asia Square. It is interesting to note that Good Day co-shares a stall space with the outlet of Burgs there — itself also being a recent addition to Food Garden at Asia Square having opened its doors on the very same day that Good Day has started its operations. Good Day and Burgs take up the former stall space which was occupied by the now-defunct CarversX that is located right beside Pho-losophy in the food court; the stall space is mostly being dedicated to the operations of Good Day, with Burgs only occupying a third of the space with a self-service kiosk that patrons can use to order items from Burgs directly. Good Day is pretty much a stall that serves healthy bowls and soft serves; their core offering being surrounded around their grain bowls. As with most establishments serving up such fare in the Central Business District, Good Day offers patrons with the flexibility of picking from various bases, proteins, supplements and dressings via their “Crete Your Bowl” menu, or by choosing between any of the items listed on their “Grain Bowl” section of the menu which comes with pre-determined mix of bases, proteins, supplements and dressing for a fuss-free experience. Apart from their healthy bowls, Good Day also does serve up a yoghurt and açai soft-serves for dessert as well — this was noted to be unavailable during the day of our visit however as the machine was not operational on the said day.

We visited Good Day during a weekday lunch service, and noted that patrons can either queue up at the counter to make their order of the grain bowl using an order chit that is being placed at the counter; those who do not wish to stand in line can also make their order via the QR code which is being displayed prominently at the stall. It is noted that there are number of Indonesian-inspired items which are served up at the menu at Good Day — this includes the Balinese Chicken Satay, as well as the Sambal Tempeh; both being listed as choices of proteins that one can go for. The Small Bowl which we have had allows the patron to opt for two bases, one protein and two supplements — our order would consist of Turmeric Basmati and Spinach (charged at an extra dollar) as our choices for base, Curry Turmeric Chicken as the protein, and Onsen Egg and Roasted Broccoli (charged at an extra dollar) as the supplements. We also decided to add-on a dressing — the Creamy Soy Sesame at an additional cost of $1.50. Overall, the options that we went for was a decent pick; the flavours of turmeric was pretty evident across the Turmeric Basmati and the Turmeric Chicken, though we did feel that the Turmeric Basmati was a wee bit dry for our preferences. We also felt that the it would have been better if they could have added some raisins to the Turmeric Basmati for some contrast. Otherwise, the other base of Spinach did match up well against the elements that we had ordered; the roasted broccoli was alright — soft with a light crunch though nothing much to shout about. The Onsen Egg was a crowd pleaser though; wobbly with a molten egg yolk that eagerly oozes out as one pokes through it. Overall, a decent eat; the price of our order at $11.30 (the Small Bowl is priced at $8.80 should one go for items without the top-up pricing) is also rather relative to such establishments within the Central Business District. That being said, Supergreen at Marina One / Frasers Tower / The Arcade is probably a better choice for us within the Central Business District for its slightly more premium ingredients at a friendly price point though.
