Coming Soon To Singapore: March 2018

It may be the end of the month, but we’re already looking to new beginnings. From iconic burger chains to Hong Kong’s household cha chaan teng name, here are six great restaurants to watch out for!

Shaking Up The Burger Scene

This might just be the best news we heard all week. Rumour has it that legendary burger chain Shake Shack is slated to open its first Singaporean outpost in the new Jewel Changi Airport and our sources seem to check out so far. If all goes as planned, you’ll be able to get your hands on these babies come 2019. Fingers crossed!

The same group who brought us JPOT, Ng Ah Sio Bak Kut Teh and more, JUMBO is set to bring Hong Kong’s well-loved cha chaan teng, Tsui Wah, to Singapore. It’s a done deal, so it’ll just be a matter of time before you get to enjoy their silky smooth milk tea, crispy buttered buns and more.

Get Your Fill Of Eel

Miyagawa

More unagi? It seems we’re getting our fill of eel this year, not that we’re complaining! This time, it’s the 125-year-old Miyagawa Honten we welcome from Japan. The 34-seater in Robertson Quay's Riverside View will serve unagi several styles: hitsumabushi (Nagoya-style with dashi), seiro mushi (grilled, then steamed in a bamboo steamer) and the classic donburi. Try it this April 12, and tell us which one’s your favourite by sharing a review in the app!

Sounds Ducking Good

ForbiddenDuck

Chef Alvin Leung, also known as the Demon Chef (you might have seen him on Masterchef), is bringing his roast duck concept to Marina Bay Financial Centre. Forbidden Duck will open its doors in April to dish out all things duck — Peking-style, slow-cooked, you name it! Considering that the man hails from Hong Kong, it’s no surprise that the restaurant will also showcase dim sum and other Cantonese favourites.

Buns, Beers And More

Black Tap_The Carolina2

If you frequent Marina Bay Sands for the great views and good fun, make sure to add good food to the list. American burger and craft beer bar Black Tap is set to make its entrance to Singapore here, joining the already impressive line-up of international restaurants. From an award-winning wagyu beef burger to their trademarked CrazyShakes, this is one to watch.

Fire It Up

Qi

Another new addition to Marina Bay Financial Centre coming to you this April is Qi - House of Sichuan. The Michelin-starred restaurant will specialise in contemporary, fiery Sichuan staples. We’re pretty excited for this — after all, we can all use a little more qi (energy) in our lives!
