A little too peppery for my taste, A-One’s Bak Kut Teh, I felt, did not fare as well as the other dishes on the table. The pleasing Braised Platter and Ampang Yong Tau Foo with their unique gravy were competent dishes but my favourite was their porridge. Served in a claypot, the fish porridge though spiced with pepper was not too overpowering with the sweetness of the seafood coming through and of a thick gooey consistency.
