Weekend mornings are better now that Purple Miao has set up shop along Jalan Merdeka in Kampung Baru Ampang. Reminiscent of Taiwan's street stalls, this outdoor breakfast stop opens four days a week to serve up tasty egg rolls and soothing cold brews for early risers. The menu is handwritten in Mandarin, so don't hesitate to ask the friendly owner behind the wooden bar for a verbal version. Don't pass up on the Spring Onion Egg Rolls (RM5.50). Fragrant and fresh off the pan, these pillowy rolls are comfort at its best. They also come with coffee in a set meal for RM13. Cold brews are made from Liberica beans so expect smooth sips with a light aftertaste. There are only three tables, but in case there isn't one available, grab a stool and sit by the road for an extra rustic experience!
Avg price per person: RM15
