Dropped by Bab-Muk-Ja, a small new family restaurant located just opposite where I live! They pride themselves for serving up 'mum's homemade food', all done up without any msg or artificial ingredients. Never had duck bulgogi before and we got this based on the owner's (his Korean wife is the chef) recommendation. The slices of duck were well marinated, not dry and tender with a good bite. You can opt for spicy or not and we enjoyed our spicy version served on a hot plate - try mixing the rice in! Their menu (different for lunch and dinner) is not very extensive for now but has all the basic Korean dishes you'd expect, like Kimchi Stew, Ginseng Chicken and Jajangmyeon.

We were served a variety of 5 types of banchan and I really liked all of them, especially their kimchi (well seasoned and not too acidic) and the saucer of addictive tiny ikan bilis fried with pumpkin seeds and almonds! They are all less salty and less strong in flavours as compared to the commercial ones, but that's exactly what we enjoyed about it. Service was very friendly and homely, felt as if we were dining at a friend's house!
