Found ourselves at the top of Marina Bay Sands at LAVO upon being kicked out of Ce La Vie for being young thugs π€
It was the eve of my friendβs birthday, so we wanted to have dinner at a special restaurant, and LAVOβs vibe sure does not disappoint π«
We ordered the Margherita π ($32), Truffle π($33), and Carne π₯ ($37) pizzas. I suggest you skip the Margherita, as it paled in comparison to the other two pizzas.
The Truffle pizza π did not have a strong truffle taste (which I enjoyed, as in my experience some dishes get completely dominated by the truffle flavour π). This flavour was subtly complimented by the other toppings (ricotta, arugula and wild mushrooms!) giving it a very fresh, yet complex taste π .
The Carne pizza π₯ was LOADED with what i think were hams (Salame, Prosciutto etc etc). I enjoyed it very much as the flavours were deep, and yet didnβt have the heavy meaty and greasy taste that this kind of meat tends contain (imo as a small animal eater at least π₯Ί). It looked really pretty as well βΊοΈ.
We also ordered the Rigatoni Melanzana pasta ππ ($36) and the Spaghetti Carbonara π§π₯($38). The star of the Rigatoni Melanzana was the buffalo mozzarella. The sauce was mediocre at best. Meanwhile, the spaghetti carbonara was creamy and rich. Regardless, itβs safe to say that both pastas were nothing special.
The service was subpar on the day we went, the staff seemed kinda annoyed which was a buzzkill π πͺ. (This might have been because we arrived at around 10:30 pm, but from my previous experience service at LAVO is usually exceptional, maybe they were having an off day). They did however bring out a pastry in the end FOC to give the birthday girl π₯³πΎ
Overall, it was an enjoyable experience and we all had a memorable night π€.
Rating: 4.0/5 (4.2/5 if you take the immaculate vibe of the location into consideration)
