Old Chang Kee is really cashing in on the hype surrounding our local flavours. Sadly this mash up of kaya toast meets curry puff fails to deliver, and is one of those dishes that should just have remained as an idea instead.... the puff portion is reminiscent of a curry puff but the flavour of old oil is heavy and doesn’t match well with the sweet kaya. There is no butter element either and the kaya lacks fragrance. I’d stick to my usual kaya toast, thanks. #burpple #burpplesg
