Admittedly, I've never had real authentic Shakshuka in my life before so I don't really know what to compare this to!
The bread was quite hard on the outer edges but soft in the middle. As for the 🍅 sauce, it tasted kind of like it came from a can. Actually, almost everything seems more "assembled" type of food as opposed to really being "cooked".
We also had an Arizona tea as well as an iced chocolate which was quite watered down and not chocolatey. Didn't finish it :/
The Avocado [$15] main was quite disappointing in comparison. There was hardly any avocado to speak of and it tasted like it came from a can and not like fresh avo. It was hardly "smashed avocado" and whatever it was, paired with ridiculous amounts of mayo on top of a sad pancake was just miserable. I took a few bites and didn't finish my food 🥑 There were bits of salad stuck in my scrambled eggs which was also weird. The food wasn't nice and hot either. Would not recommend!
However, McDonald's at Serene Centre is a pretty good alternative to Sugarhaus.
