Tarte by Cheryl Koh's tarts had been their specialty ever since they had started; always liked how their tarts carried quality and how the tart base just crumbles neatly without causing a huge mess on the plate by being less firm that what it should have been. The Houjicha Tart is no different; a sturdy tart base that holds up well to the slices of the fork, while the roasty aroma of Houjicha is especially prominent; perfuming it's way through the entire tart while one is at it — just builds on rather than fading away after a few bites. Although pricey at $10, it's a place that is certainly worth the occasional treat.
