Now doing a month-long stint (till 24 Jan) at Open Door Policy in Tiong Bahru, I finally set a date to visit the interesting pop-up, Lazy Susan.

Featuring Stinky Meets Crispy - shrimp paste fried chicken (Har Cheong Gai) and rice waffle with sambal maple syrup. I might have preferred a fluffier waffle and for my egg to be more runny to go with the crispy har cheong gai but my my… the boneless prawn paste chicken was fried perfectly and the skin was so addictive. As for the sambal maple sauce, there was no beating around the bush for that one as the sambal hits you first thing and a dab was more than I could take (my friend was my tester/guinea pig and she said it was spicy so it is not just me okay). The menu definitely brings a unique twist to our local flavours and my only wish is that they will come back with more non spicy alternatives in the near future for Singaporeans that can’t take the heat, like myself.
