We came across this shop at the Old Airport Road Hawker Centre, which is really hard to miss given it's blue signboards! As the stall highlighted their their seafood herbal soup is a must-try, we decided to get the $7 portion and added on another 50 cents for the 粗米粉.
However, we were surprised by how small the $7 portion is, given that there were smaller sizes of $5 and $6 - there were only 2 prawns and 4 meatballs and some batang fish 😅 We initially wanted to share the $7 portion between the two of us but we had to get something else as it was just not enough...
While the dish was supposed to have herbal soup as the base, the taste of herbs in the soup was not evident. However, one can tell that the soup base has been simmered in seafood for quite a while as it is slightly sweet, likely due to the prawns. The remaining ingredients were pretty standard, but they were cooked well.
We will probably not get the herbal seafood soup next time, but try the other items on the menu, such as their fried fish bee hoon, since the uncle mentioned that the fried fish was sold out.
