Chahan Unagi:
This is essentially a take on the classic unagi chahan, and it is one of the more popular items on the menu at @unclekiisu and I could see (and taste) why. The garlic fried rice dish was extremely fragrant. Even before the dish reached the table, the air was already filled with the aroma of wok-hei and garlic. The charred garlic fried rice dish uses a blend of garlic chips and kebayaki sauce which comes together perfectly, giving you the classic but enhanced fried rice flavour, as well as having the hint of Japanese cuisine's element infused into it.This is one of those dishes that is capable of kick starting your appetite by scent, way before the dish even reaches your mouth. It being topped a huge and generous slab of unagi, the situation could not have been more perfect. Although this dish may seem like a simple combination of ingredients, I can assure you that this pairing would easily make it for the "couple of the year" award if there was one for awesome food pairings. With this dish, you can expect to leave the table fully satisfied as the portions here are huge for a very justifiable price point ($21.80). Located at Novena Square 2, #02-65, it is highly accessible and as per their catch phrase, you can be sure to truly #LoveCalories when you dine with them.

Thank you Chef Marcus from Uncle Kiisu for having us and thank you @traditionalfoodhero for your kind invitation to this food tasting session. It was my first and I had a truly enjoyable and memorable time. It was nice dining and learning from @ariane.le as well, being a more experienced and extremely professional foodie. I had a great time and I look forward to dining with you two again!
