Don’t these buns look like soldiers standing in rows ?
Rather than the bolo bun that most people would opt for - I would choose this fluffy bun filled with buttery and coconut-y goodness .
The hong Kongers have an interesting way of naming their food . Calling polo buns ( pineapple buns) when there is no pineapple in the buns and calling this a cock - tail bun when it rarely resembles the tail of a chicken 🐓. Why ?
Anyway - This bun is a typical traditional bread that most Bakeries in HK would sell but I find the standards here very close to the famous Mong kok bakery in HK and even better than most bakeries in Hk.
These buns are soft , moist and have a well balanced of the sweetness from the coconut and a slight savoury taste from the melted butter.
They look unassuming - just like plain buns but when you bite into them , an explosion 💥 of flavours happen in your mouth.
Best to eat them warm but they are so good - it really doesn’t matter 😊
This bakery used to be known as Imperial treasures bakery but have since changed their name to so good bakery - what a name but indeed the breads are good or rather the same standards as before.
