A caramel coated custard choux puff that’s torched to a caramelised gold brown exterior upon order, the cold coffee based beverage is also topped with a layer of smooth, thick cream. Unfortunately, the custard choux puff was a tad dry for my liking and it would have been better if the cream was lighter as well. Nevertheless, the highlight here was the cold coffee (NOT iced), strong as the name suggest with the top layer of cream adding a tinge of pleasant, subtle sweetness. Unfortunately, as I am kind of allergic to coffee, I wasn’t able to enjoy this beverage to its fullest, though I did manage a 1/3 at least, forgoing the aftermath syndromes of insomnia & headache 🤭. On the other hand, the Starry Night latte art did indeed come with a hefty pricetag for this painstakingly and meticulously crafted piece of artwork, along with your base of vanilla milk or coffee, which @nickblitzz opted for the latte. Once again, the coffee here was strong albeit well balanced, with a mellow bitter undertone. Apart from beverages, C through also serves desserts on the menu, which includes Matcha Tiramisu as featured here. Atop 2 sticks of soft, fluffy ladyfinger biscuit comes a generous dollop of matcha cream that’s smooth, thick with a distinct earthy note and a lingering, subtle bitter undertone which I adore💚. Garnished with freeze dried strawberries that added a tangy, sour note, it would have been better if there was an extra stick of ladyfinger biscuit or less matcha cream for a balanced ratio of cream:cake . On a side note, the cafe is pretty small albeit cozy, with an ‘open’, See Through area that allows the females to watch in awe as @leekangbin91 baristas cum owner crafts out each piece of latteart wholeheartedly 🥰 .
