Helmed by the same people of The Dark Gallery; which is known for everything dark chocolate - @amusedessertco is a new dessert concept that's quite the opposite from it's dark counterpart.

Having seen their tantalizing range of pastries, bakes, parfaits and more - I was definitely intrigued and was excited to try almost everything. Unfortunately, as I was full from a hearty lunch, my colleagues and I settled for some ice-cream instead.

After scanning their variety of flavours which included unique ones such as Injeolmi Bingsu, I decided to go with their Banoffee Pecan Pie. Imagining the wonderful combination of banana and caramel - I figured you couldn't go wrong with Banoffee. Boy was I wrong and sorely disappointed to find it tasted nothing like banana and nothing like caramel. It seemed to be more pecan flavoured and lacked the Banoffee aspect - almost bordering on bland.

I was definitely not amused to be frank. A couple of colleagues also found some other flavours to be disappointing - perhaps their non chocolate ice-cream isn't their strong suit. And at 5.50 a pop, I would have gone to Apiary instead.

Alas, I'm still hoping to give Amuse another try, they clearly have much more to offer and the upside is their cafe is highly Instagrammable. I've even been eyeing their parfait - but at a whopping 24 bucks for just two sad scoops of ice-cream and some toppings - it's making me rethink my life choices and whether it's really worth it #ForTheGram.
