Devoted Ma La lovers can add this spot to their list of late-night eats! You Ma You La, a corner stall at this S-11 Food House in Ang Mo Kio operates till 11p, serves piquant and "very very thoroughly fried" Ma La Xiang Guo, according to Tastemaker Wei Zhi Chiang. An avid fan of ma la xiang guo, she says that residents in the area are lucky they don't need to travel all the way to Chinatown for a good bowl! Choose from a wide variety of ingredients, and then select your spice level. If you like a good kick, follow Wei Zhi's lead and go for Medium spice, where the "heat and spice was just nice, not too numbing at all". She also recommends ordering the konjac jelly, an ingredient not commonly seen in ma la stalls. Note that you will be charged by the weight of your ingredients and not the number of items selected.
Pro tip: They are generous with their seasonings, so be sure to request for less salt!
Avg Price: $5 per person
