Yet another dessert spot at Tanjong Pagar Road again; this time being Natter Coffee & Gelato — the gelato parlour takes over the former premises of the now-defunct Haven Coffee that had pretty much of a short run. Much of the shop layout has remained the same here from the time that it was Haven Coffee; the shop also retains the white and rather minimalistic design theme within. Serving up coffee and gelato, Natter Coffee and Gelato also serves up pastries such as the Plain Croissant, Kouign Amann and Apple Crumble to satisfy those that are feeling peckish. Where gelato is of concern, patrons would be able to have them in a cup, or pair them up with a cone or a waffle — patrons can opt between the Classic Pandan or the Houjicha Waffle here. Those who are not into coffee will also be glad to know that Natter Coffee and Gelato carries a range of tea and soda for its beverage menu as well.

Skimming through the selection of gelato flavours available in the display fridge, the Sikhye (Korean Rice) Gelato was one particular flavour that stood out to us the most, considering how this flavour is sort of a rare find that we have not really came across at most other places. Felt that the Sikhye (Korean Rice) Gelato was quite a fair bit on the sweeter side; there was a very faint hint of ricey note towards its finish, but the gelato overall felt a little flatly sweet — would definitely prefer a more distinct ricey note even if that would mean that the gelato might end up a little more paste-y or grainy in its texture. On the contrary, the White was decent; no doubt a bit on the milky side of things, but generally a well-executed cuppa considering how it is coming from a gelato parlour.

While we have not tried most of the other gelato flavours and the other items available here, Natter Coffee & Gelato does fall a bit short when compared to more artisanal establishments such as the likes of COTTA, which is also situated within the vicinity. Perhaps we just picked the wrong item; nonetheless, Natter Coffee & Gelato is a decent spot to hangout over coffee and gelato for those who are not too picky with their food — a decent spot in the ‘hood.
