Would you like to have good, crispy, deep fried pork knuckles or trotters at a coffeeshop at a fraction of the price? I had this at Jurong, but it's also available at their Bugis outlet, and it's their signature home dish known as Crispy Pata.

It's deep fried till it has a crackling outer skin, yet it's not greasy nor oily, and retains a tender interior. To balance the meatiness of this dish, it's served with a homemade sauce comprising of fresh lime juice, garlic cloves, lemongrass, kaffir lime and lemon leaves. I was familiar with this as a German dish, but now I understand that this is also traditionally Asian.
