Inside Imbi Market is the famous Bunn Choon egg tart stall. You can recognise it from the numerous press articles wallpapering its facade. After placing your order, there's about an hour's wait time for your egg tarts to be baked. So everyone kills time by stuffing their faces on the local dishes from the other stalls.
When finally ready, the piping hot egg tarts are seriously AMAZING! Because they come straight from the oven, they seem extra scrumptious. The rich, wobbly custard filling is not too sweet either (which suits me down to the ground). As good as the classic is, I have to say the green tea version is even better. Somehow, I find the custard a perfect match with the fragrant "matcha". The consensus is the black charcoal one is alright but nothing to shout about if you aren't into that flavour.
