I was compelled to post this straight after my meal, that's how good it was. Situated in the unlikeliest of places, in Vivocity's Food Republic, this is not your average Japanese foodcourt stall. The first promising sign is the ever present smattering of Japanese salarymen patiently queuing for their food. The second, the Japanese cooks behind the counter. Oh, did I also mention they grill their meat over a charcoal fire? I had the salmon and tuna kaisen don (the egg was extra) which featured a bowl of quality Japanese rice overflowing with large chunks of fresh sashimi lightly coated in soy sauce, sesame oil and sesame seeds. Beautiful. A veritable steal at only $9.80 and apparently limited to only 10 bowls a day.
