Amongst all the pricier food options in Grandstand is 南记 Nam Kee, which specializes in traditional in-house handmade paus, recipes from Malaysia. It's not an unusual sight to see people taking away tens of them, which makes me really wonder why I haven't yet tried one!?

What keeps my family coming back here is their bowls of hand pulled mee hoon kway that we know we can always rely on for a hearty and comforting meal. Seriously shiok especially when it's cold and rainy outside! The kways were cooked to a nice bite, minced pork were tender and the soup although clear, was packed with flavour. Plus those crispy anchovies and stewed mushrooms - oh man I would pay for an extra serving of them!!! Portion's slightly smaller than usual but you can get the big bowl at $5. Other noodle options are the usuals - ban mian, you mian, ke kou noodles.

Nam Kee's almost always packed with people so if you're in big groups, avoid the peak hours! #BurppleCheapNGood
