While I was disappointed to see Foonโs go, I was equally heartened to see @veronicaphua and @the_xw โs posts on a new Thai food stall that has since taken over its premises.
Gin Sen is run by two friendly Thai ladies dishing up authentic tasting Thai street food such as bak mee, beef noodles, Thai fishcakes and braised beef stir-fried with basil.
The bak mee comes topped with wanton skins, minced pork, pork slices, a chicken ball, half a boiled egg and dried shrimp, but these are secondary. Give the springy egg noodles a thorough toss to allow the seasoning of sugar, crunchy crushed peanuts, chilli flakes and a whiff of fish sauce to really come together. Sweet, sour and spicy all at once, I slurped it all down eagerly and realised belatedly that I had finished all the noodles and left the majority of ingredients sitting at the bottom of a nearly empty bowl.
