New to the Tiong Bahru enclave is this beautiful, laid-back bistro for simple but very tasty French dishes. It's an excellent spot for weekend catch-ups, replete with great music and ample seats — though they do fill up fast, so head down early. For brunch, have the Marinated Crab Tartine ($18) that comes with lots of well-seasoned crab meat and half an avocado set atop toasted sourdough. The Ravioles de Roan ($18) is also good, French dumpling pasta filled with Tete de Moine cheese — sounds heavy but is surprisingly not jelat and so flavourful. Otherwise, you won't go wrong with their organic egg offerings, like the Poached Eggs ($22) with avocado, pomegranate and portobello mushroom. Be sure to save space for a Flat White ($6) made with beans from Tiong Hoe Specialty Coffee, paired with the Croissant ($3) or Pain Au Chocolat ($3.50) baked in-house using 100% French butter. Pro tip: Cheese lovers can now stock up on their favourite cheese at Merci Marcel, all specially flown in from France every Friday morning!
Avg Price: $30 per person
