A very localized dish found in a very local dining spot, Goong Chae Nam Pla (Raw shrimp in fish sauce served with fresh garlic, bittergourd, mint and a tangy chilli sauce, THB 180).
This might seem daunting at first but trust me it's my first time trying this too and I love it a lot. Somewhat like a ceviche, the crunchy raw shrimp is uplifted by the fish sauce while the accompanying condiments create a perfect harmony in your mouth. My way of eating is to have everything in a single mouthful, including the chilli sauce but without bittergourd.
Other recommended dishes include the Tom Yum Pla Too (Spicy and Sour Thai Mackerel Soup, THB 120) and Deep Fried Sour Pork Coated with Breadcrumbs (THB 100).
