Was contemplating if we should get this, and glad that we went ahead. The stall is famous for their handmade eel fishballs and pork balls, but we preferred their comfortingly light broth and springy kway teow more. In their cheapest 5RM bowl, you’ll get 3 eel fishballs, minced pork slice and bits of duck meat. The broth is not the most flavourful, but the fried shallots and pork lard were a fragrant addition to the sweet base.

This was also the start of my kway teow soup craze in Penang - lots of good ones around and the fav so far is from a stall in Air Itam Market Annex Food Court! 😂
