Although @flashbangsingapore is over, you can still visit @tukwankitch at their physical outlet in Jalan Leban for authentic Thai food! Their pop up at Flashbang features an array of Thai delights, ranging from skewers to Thai fish cakes and even Softshell crab (as featured here). The chicken yakitori and pork skewers came are served with spicy seafood sauce drizzled atop that’s tangy with a fragrant tinge of spice, flavourful and a perfect companion to the tender, grilled meat skewers. On the downside, I didn’t quite fancy the softshell crab as I personally felt it didn’t complement well with the nacho cheese sauce. Though the exterior batter was crisp, some parts had turned soggy with the addition of the creamy and thick nacho cheese sauce. The interior was decent still, juicy but lacking the distinct seafood-sque flavour which I supposed is overwhelmed by the smoky and creamy nacho cheese. Nevertheless, the skewers are worth the try, especially with the spicy seafood sauce that brings an elevation of flavour and fragrance! ✨
