When you find yourself craving Penang fare, simply head to Jalan Kepong for authentic dishes that will satisfy. Come on an empty stomach and dive straight for the Char Kuey Teow (RM6.50) that sees wok hei-laden flat noodles stir-fried with prawns, cockles, crunchy bean sprouts and Chinese sausages. Another signature dish to look out for is the White Curry Mee (RM6.50), featuring pork blood curd, juicy cockles, cuttle fish and pork balls in a fragrant coconut milk-based broth. You can give your dish a flavour boost with a dollop of chilli paste. Also good is the Chee Cheong Fun (RM5) that comes doused in sweet sauce and a tangy chilli sauce.
