The newly launched brown sugar pearl milk series @lihosg!!!🥤
- Brown Sugar Pearl Fresh Milk 黑糖珍珠鮮奶🍼
- Brown Sugar Pearl Fresh Milk Party 黑糖珍珠鮮奶大派對🎉

Thanks @lihosg for having me and @burpple for the invitation!😊

When it comes to drinking bubble tea, first thing comes to my mind is...sugar level.

Not so much of a health concern, if I want to be healthy, I wouldn’t have drink bubble tea in the first place, it’s just purely my own taste preference, prefer bubble tea without sugar as usually the sweetness from the pearls will bring out hint of sweetness/ taste of the bubble tea itself, so ya, that’s just my personal preference...

And so, I asked the preparer on the sugar level of their new brown sugar pearl milk series. Since it’s brown sugar, I’m afraid it will be super sweet, but I was told that they have taken this into consideration and the brown sugar pearls series drinks are actually defaulted at 50% sugar level. I find it sweet but still quite acceptable for one...

LiHO went a step further as compared to RB Tea I would say...once tried RB Tea’s 青蛙撞奶, something similar to LiHO’s new series, but I prefer LiHO’s as it is less sweet (without reducing the volume of the pearls)...🤣

The pearls are slow cooked with raw and pure brown sugar over a long period of time resulting in a soft, chewy texture with the rich roasted brown sugar fragrance, the pearls, I like! Especially when the pearls are served warm and here’s why...

Similar to 青蛙撞奶, the Brown Sugar Pearl Fresh Milk was served with cold milk on top and warm brown sugar pearls at the bottom, making this drink a little interesting depending on how you drink it:

(1) Poke your straw right in and drink it
(2) Shake it for 8 times

I prefer (1) as I can really feel and taste the warm brown sugar pearls with the cold milk in my mouth altogether and it’s quite an interesting experience my tongue had, and since the pearls are already less sweetened (50%), drinking straight from the straw is rather acceptable!

As for (2), like what you may have already imagined, just cold milk with brown sugar pearls like any other bubble tea, it’s not bad, the overall taste improved in this case as the sweetness from the brown sugar pearls are quite well mixed with the unsweetened milk (sweet pearls and not-sweet milk would not be that distinct). And as for why 8 times, the preparer said they have tried ample of times and 8 times seemed to be the optimal number of times you should shake the drink to get the best blend of the brown sugar pearls and the milk...🤔

As for the Brown Sugar Pearl Fresh Milk Party, it contains:
- peanuts crunch (sweetened like those muah chee’s)
- oreos crunch (sweet)
- caramelised biscuit crunch (lotus biscuit taste, sweet)
- creamy cheese (lightly salted)
- cold milk (not-sweet)
- warm brown sugar pearls (50% sweetness)

The layering can be interesting and instagrammable, but kinda confusing for the taste bud and far too sweet (even with the cheese) for me. I find this drink quite heavy and quite jelak after a few mouthful for the milk, the creamy cheese and the toppings, they are just too much for one...

So, for those who have sweet tooth and likes 口感, 層次感 and 飽足感, probably can go for this...

From these 2 drinks, I prefer the original one (Brown Sugar Pearl Fresh Milk)...
