One of the desserts at last night's invited tasting at Riverside Grilled Fish restaurant was this poetically beautiful cold rice cake. Shaped as a snowy white fish, it came "swimming" in a shallow pool of gula melaka. Yes, it felt almost criminal to cut it up for eating but we did because after all the spicy dishes, our tastebuds were in need of some cool, smooth and soothing comfort.
