Disappointing experience

The good reviews about Chuan kee led me to check out this place with much anticipation.

The Assam fishhead was so small and bony and being only half a head ( and almost no flesh from the body) - it was not even sufficient to feed one person . The accompanied vegetables of ladies fingers were so sparse , they looked more like garnishes. The sauce - though has a sour kick - was sticky from the use of cornstarch to thicken the sauce . Worse still - I felt extremely thirsty after my meal .

The spinach with crabmeat sauce was equally bad . Very “ old “ spinach and almost no crabmeat present in the sauce . Just a pile of vegetables covered with an egg and cornstarch gravy.

The homemade spinach egg and toufu beancurd with mushrooms was probably the “ best “ dish but not memorable either. It didn’t quite have any element of surprise being said that it was homemade .

Coming to the last dish which was the fried kwey Teow dish . It was perhaps the dish that made me take a second mouthful. However , it was neither like a traditional char kwey Teow Nor a Mee goreng -it tasted like a bit of each .

For the quality of food , the bill was not justifiable .

Hope this post would help some of you to save some calories and $$$$.
