With plans to expand to Novena in the pipeline, the Korean dessert franchise Sweet Monster is verociously eating their way through our food industry, and into our hearts. Most of the desserts here are made with a standard milk soft serve base that consists of 75% milk, hence its milky texture and slightly sweetened flavour. Located at Bugis Junction and Plaza Singapura, the sky blue booth is loud and eyecatching, much like the candied treats they offer. Go for the biggest and the boldest — Cheese and Caramel Monster ($6.80), a cloying tower of milk soft serve adorned with salted cheese popcorn, a surprisingly good combination. Sugar junkies, head straight for the Strawberry Cake Milkshake ($7.50 regular, $8.50 large), a syrupy concoction bound to get your sugar levels shooting through the roof. Other than their sweet treats, also look out for adorable keepsake items like post-it notes in milk cartons that are for sale.
