For a universally pleasing buffet spread, the sort where everybody in a large group gathering would find something palatable, head to this lobby-level restaurant at Pan Pacific Orchard. When we visited on a Monday afternoon, the place was packed with office goers celebrating the year-end festivities, so you might want to save this for a celebratory meal with the colleagues. For its price ($42 lunch/$68 dinner per person), the spread is extensive enough, with a good mix of Asian and Western fare — think bak kut teh, braised lamb shank, Penang fried kway teow and a great selection of cheeses. What really impressed us though were the live stations — super fresh sashimi sliced by hand, fresh pasta cooked to order and the most delightful delicate crepes. On top of that, the service is prompt and dirty plates were whisked away very efficiently and unobtrusively. The sliced cakes were dry and a bit disappointing, but that just means more space for the chocolate fondue and crepes!
Avg Price: $45 per person
