The Truffle Carbonara ($19) is a cream-base linguine dish that incorporates mushrooms, bacon and shaved parmesan, topped with poached egg and truffle paste.

Tossing the dish altogether, the truffle taste did not manage to pick up except where bits of the paste might have landed; could be my poor mixing skills or my unrealistic expectations for pungent truffle flavours but otherwise that element was lost in translation in this dish. Overall, this plate of carbonara felt like a reminder to me that I need to stop eating cream-based carbonaras because it got rather overwhelming to stomach towards the end, although I did finish it. Nothing too 'wow' to shout about other than a nice, flowy yolk, but if you fancy cream-based carbonara dishes, then who knows - you just might like this one. 😏
