Pairing strawberries and balsamic vinegar is a no-brainer. With ice cream and mascarpone cream in the picture, the addition of honey to the balsamic was a thoughtful tweak to temper the acidity a little, allowing it to better fit into the ensemble while still providing the much needed tanginess. I initially thought that the cashew meringue would make this cloyingly sweet, but I really liked its roasted nuttiness! This definitely fared better than the disappointing molten lava cake (Magnum Death By Chocolate, RM32), which was more kueh-like than cake in consistency.
p.s. While this was rather well-balanced, it's still impossible to eat on your own. Make sure you bring 2-3 more friends to share it with!
